Different than I

I've mentioned that Alex is doing wonderfully in school. He really enjoys it, wakes up excited to go every morning and he's gotten "green lights" every day, but one (of which he was very disappointed, he still talks about it).

Today was progress report day. His teacher sent home the report stating how he's doing in different categories of the things that they're learning. He's doing great when it comes to reading, writing, cooperation, all of that great stuff, but not so hot at math. He had trouble stating the values of the 4 coins and counting backwards from 20. As most of you know, I majored in accouting in college, and to find out that my son is having a tough time in math is disturbing to me! (I hope you caught on to my sarcasm in that!) He may not have my knack and love of numbers (thus far, we'll work on that), but thankfully he did inherit my love of all people. It brings joy to my heart to see him act so kindly towards other kids in his class and make new friends so easily. Truly, a chip off the ole block. Evenso, he is definitely a being all his own. He is a very hands-on learner. We bought him a new 100 peice puzzle yesterday and he had it done within an hour. Honestly, he amazes us. We couldn't be more proud of him. He's well on his way to getting that college scholarship! Yay! :D Would it be too much to ask his kindergarten teacher for a letter of recommendation? ! ?

I can't believe they are pushing so hard when school has just started. I am sure he is doing GREAT! It sounds like he is having fun. I am so glad to hear he is doing well and loving it.
