Well, where we live now, us white people are pretty much the minority. Alex has had some trouble with some punk little kids at school (one taking his sandwich and throwing it on the ground, another calling him "stupid", etc.), so we figured that if he's going to eventually have to kick some kids butt, he should know how to do it correctly. So we enrolled him in Karate last week and he's loving it. His instructor loves kids and is great with them. They're learning a lot of self-defense right now and I'm really excited for him to learn more. Seriously, if Alex has to kick some kids butt, it'll only take one good whoopin' and other kids will know not to mess with him. Someday Alex will be about 6'2", but until then, Karate will do.

He looks like he is loving it! I am glad he has found something he likes.
That is terrible (what the kids are doing to him). I'm so sorry he has to deal with that already-I HATE bullies. He looks like he is taking it seriously...what fun!
