What I'm Reading

I'm not sure when I actually bought this book, but it must have been a couple of years ago. I think I bought it at a Library clearance sale, for maybe $0.50 cents. Lately I have really been loving learning more about church history. My SIL gave us the Modern Prophets movie series and just about every night after the kids go to bed, I put one on to watch. They're so interesting!

This book is great! It's written by Gracia N. Jones, who is the great-great granddaughter of Emma and Joseph. Consequently, she was not raised LDS and didn't even know about our religion until she was in her teens and was babysitting for an LDS family. She joined the church at 18 and has since done so much research on her family and wrote this amazing book. It's all based on church history from the beginning, and how Emma and Joseph handled it, together. Since I'm teaching Relief Society, I study a lot about Joseph anyways, but this book digs a little deeper into his feelings and Emma's contribution to the restoration of the gospel. Love it!

This looks like an interesting book. I'm studying church history right now too - focusing on D&C and about to read The History of Joseph Smith By His Mother. I'll have to look for this book.

It was a different book I read. It was Joseph and Emma, a love story. (It was really good) I'll have to read this one.
