Honestly...

Last night, the kids and I ran by Wal-mart to pick up some more food for Emma. After spending more than enough time in there, I loaded the kids in the van and were headed home - after pulling out of my parking space, Alex told me he wanted to watch Charlotte's Web on the way home, but he couldn't reach his headphones from his carseat, so I pulled over in the parking lot and got them for him. As I got back in my seat and looked around, making sure there weren't any cars in my way of backing up, I noticed something in the parking lot a couple of spaces next to me. I looked a little closer and found it to be CASH!! I jumped out of my van and grabbed the money, and quickly got back in. I just found $100.00 in cash!! Yep, 4 twenties, 1 ten and 2 fives. Tempting as it seems, and knowing that we're seriously poor these days, I looked at my new found handful of money and knew what I needed to do. So I drove to the front of the store, told Alex to stay put, locked my kids in the van and ran the money to the workers near the front. I told them that I had just found the $100.00 in the parking lot and wanted to give it to management. I gave the lady the handful of money and she took it to her manager for me. One of the other workers, an older gentleman, said to me "You must be a Christian". I replied "Yes sir, I'm a Mormon", smiled proudly and ran back out to my kids. It was then that Alex asked me what I was doing... I was so grateful to have the opportunity to show him the depth of his mom's character, to tell him that Christ taught us to be honest no matter what. I felt so proud to show my children, as young as they are, the pathway to truth and righteousness, true happiness. I will always strive to be the best example to my family as I can be.

that is the sweetest story ever... it would be tempting to keep $100! And my favorite part is when the man commented that you must be a Christian. :o) Good job for showing it through your actions.
