Icky, sticky
What the heck happened to Alex?
Well, this little story for more for my memory's sake, but it's a good read!
I'm planning a cute baby shower for my SIL Jessica and was searching online for some cute favor ideas. I came across this one and wanted to buy the supplies tonite so that I could make some of them tomorrow. As usual, I bribed Alex, that if he behaved while we were in the store, I would give him a piece of gum when we were finished. He did pretty good, so I made good on my word and gave him a piece of gum when we got back to the van...but of course I had to tear a little piece of it off to share with Emma.
When we got home, I got busy putting the favors together. These days, I have absolutely NO memory whatsoever. I forget to do stuff all the time, forget where I put stuff, forget errands to run, forget to feed my kids until they beg me for food, forget to take my hubby dinner at work, etc. Well, tonite I forgot that I had given Emma a small piece of gum. I'm not sure what Alex did to tick her off, but she took the gum out of her mouth and stuck it in his eye! He came running up to me, already trying to pull it off of his eyelashes, yelling that Emma had stuck her gum in his eye. I about died laughing. In about a half hours time, I wet myself at least 4 times. I had to call Tony at work and tell him all about it. It was freakin' hilarious. And of course being the good mom that I am, I snapped a picture of his eye before I tried getting it out. Oh man, I haven't laughed that hard in a long time, and leave it to my crazy kids to make me bust a gut & wet myself, again.
How does one go about getting gum out of eyelashes? Well, I took the gum-filled eye boy upstairs, got a paper towel and smeared some peanut butter on his eye. We let it sit for a few seconds and then I wiped it all off using downward strokes. And then I put him in the bathtub and had him rub soap and warm water over it for a few minutes. Eventually it all came off and he's as good as new. Good thing too...not only is he a cute kid and I'd like him to stay that way, but we have church tomorrow and don't need him being kicked out of his class for having a gummy-eye.
I called my brother & SIL and told them that they might want to re-think having more than one child... I can't wait to see what adventures this new baby girl is going to bring to our family!

That is hilarious! And exactly why I still don't let the kids have gum, and Matt's 9, lol!
LOL poor guy. He didn't even see it coming! I know what you mean about forgeeting everything!! Lets get together soon. I'm still in the icky I-can-feel-my-food-creeping-up-the-back-of-my-throat stage so hopefully I'll get my second wind soon so we can party!
