Well, compared to how sick I got with Alex, I'm doing great, but when I was pregnant with Emma, I only got nauseous maybe twice, I think. This time around, I'm nauseous 24/7, but haven't yacked yet, so I'm grateful for that. I don't feel like eating, but then I know that if I don't, the nausea will just get worse. And then once I do eat, I have to try my hardest to keep it down. Any advice would be much appreciated. My poor children are bored out of their minds because I'm feeling so lethargic & nasty. They've watched CARS & the Incredibles about 43 times in the past week. Alex is on fall break last week and this coming week, and I don't have the energy to do much with him. I'm glad I prepared a bunch of worksheets for him a couple of weeks ago to tide him over during this long break - don't laugh, he loves worksheets! Thankfully, Tony was off work the past 3 days and helped me prepare meals & entertain the kids when I was feeling so icky. They made a cute fort last night and I forgot to take pictures :( But he's gone back to work today and so I won't have much help around here until Wednesday comes again. Thankfully my kids are pretty well behaved and Emma's old enough to actually play with Alex now. They're so darn cute!
I still don't know how far along I am...according to my ticker, I'm close to 7 weeks, but I think I'm a good 2-4 weeks ahead of that, at least. I go to the doctor on Thursday and maybe they'll do a sonogram. That'd be fun.
This part of pregnancy is tough.
Dang you hormones, dang you.

I am sorry you feel so rotten. If I was there I would take your kids for the week. Maybe someday! Small meals while you are laying down, not moving. The motion sickness makes it worse. They told me ginger really helps so I did gingerbread cookies (I don't like ginger snaps) but they are hard to find. Maybe with Christmas it will be easier. Also, eating before you even get up in the morning (leave crackers by your bedside). This is all advice given by my doctors but to tell the truth, none of it worked great. If you can't keep anything down for a day or 2 then you might consider going in for an IV. I know it isn't fun but keeping you healthy is! Good luck and let me know if I can do anything from here.

oooh -- I hate that part of pregnancy. Laurie had me try peppermint tea and it helped some. Once it got worse, I tried benadryl & dramamine. Those made me so sleepy, so the lethargy wasn't any better. Finally I had to go to my doctor for an Rx. Good luck. I have a friend that is on an IV from day one to her final trimester. She can't even eat ice cubes. UGGG! Good luck!
Hang in there Connie. You are a warrior! To put your mind at ease, this third pregnancy for me has been the hardest by far. There are spurts when I've felt decent and motivated, but overall I have felt so huge and lazy. Ya, the guilt definitely kicks in when bed time for the girls rolls around and we haven't left the house or done anything remotely productive for that matter.
So, you are not alone :) I will empathize with you anytime you need it!
