Mother's Day

I hope everyone had a fabulous Mother's Day!

On Wednesday, Tony took the kids shopping to buy me a present. Tony had to explain to Alex not to tell me what they had bought for me and that it was a secret. Alex did GREAT all week long. And then the first thing he asked me when he woke up was...

"Mom, what day is it?"
"Sunday"
"MOM, now I can tell you that we bought you new shoes!"

That kid cracks me up. He couldn't be more excited to tell me all about my new shoes. They bought me new tennis shoes to exercise in, Tony's dog ate mine a while ago so I really needed/wanted new ones.

Tony woke up early and made the kids and I french toast - yummy! And then I got to check out my new shoes. And then Tony even cleaned up the kitchen for me! THANK YOU!

While we were all eating breakfast, Emma fell backwards in her chair onto the hard floor and gave us a big scare. I don't think she hit her head, but she was hysterical - freaked me out. I thought about not going to church, making sure my daughter didn't have a concussion - but I had to go, it was my turn to teach Relief Society. We missed Sacrament Meeting and most of Sunday school, but we made it for the last hour. Emma was much better after taking a 2 hour nap, thankfully.

My lesson was on the "Gifts of the Spirit". I'm grateful that I wasn't asked to talk about Mother's, which I couldn't have done because I would have been a blubbering idiot the entire time. This was the second Mother's Day to pass since my mom died. Not an easy day... I bought a card and wrote in it, and did the same thing last year. I sealed it, and tucked it away. It's my therapy, it makes me feel better to feel like I still get to honor my mom on Mother's Day even tho she's not here with me to make the day more special. But I'm truly OK... I felt her presence early in the morning and that is always a special treat.

Happy Mother's Day, Mom!

Alex is such a funny boy and that is too cute that he finally told you on Mother's Day:) That sounds like Mariyah on Saturday night wanting me to go to bed so that they could put up my gift up...read my blog to find out more:) I hope Emma is doing better since her fall. When your children fall it's always so scary. Have a wonderful week and thanks for all the great deals too.
